| The Pentland
Hotel is a family run establishment set in the heart
of Thurso, Caithness. Suitable for families and business people
alike, the hotel has two lounges for conferences and a night porter
service ensures that late services are maintained and that early
risers can enjoy a continental breakfast. |
 |
 |
The three star hotel has a large split level dining room so that smaller parties of about
30 may enjoy extra privacy. The restaurant specialises in Italian cuisine
using the freshest local Caithness seafood and produce. Vegetarian choices
and children's menus are also available. |
The dining room, like the rest
of the hotel has been newly refurbished with tasteful carpeting and furnishings
so that the right ambience is created for a perfect meal.
We have a selection of our menus available for download, simply select which menu you wish to view from the list on the left hand side.
| The reception foyer is an attractive area
where guests can relax after their meal in comfort. The focus of this room
is the fireplace with its carved wooden mantel on a Caithness stone
hearth. |

|
Alternatively, the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of the lounge bar is
an area where families can sit and where light refreshments and snacks can
be eaten, in the more informal surroundings.
 |
There is also a large
function room which can be hired for weddings, anniversaries, conferences etc. This
area can comfortably accommodate up to 120 people for a meal and 180 for a
dance and is complete with a
dance floor and a self contained bar area. |
| The
Pentland Hotel has 42 bedrooms all with private facilities,
direct dial telephones, hairdryers, radio alarm clocks and tea/coffee
making facilities. Remote control colour televisions with Freeview
are available in all rooms. |

|
 |
Single rooms are from £40.00
Twin/Double rooms are from £70.00
Family rooms are from £77.50

| The area is popular
for golf and other sporting activities such as surfing, fishing,
sea angling and salmon fishing, as well as day trips to the Orkney
Isles.
|
|
 |
Locally
we have a cinema and bowling alley, and for those who are interested
in the history of the area, there are some fine 17th Century houses
and a ruined castle to visit. |
We are
not far away from the Castle of Mey, the Highland home of the late
Queen Mother. Locally there are a number of spectacular beaches
and The Dounreay Visitor Centre. |
